HI Sarah! I think you would love Michelle’s course – there is ABSOLUTELY potential. (Especially if you already have seen a tiny bit of income – you obviously have a good start! You just need to expand on that 🙂 )
One thing I do is have websites that are set up in lower competition niches where the items typically aren’t as expensive and where it’s easier to sell these products in larger quantities ($50 or less). Then I have other niche sites that sell more expensive products at much higher prices ($XXX – $X,XXX) that are sold less frequently. So this way I get to use the increased quantity of sales from these lower priced product websites to help me get up into higher payout brackets so instead of making 6% on that high end item I’ll get 8% instead.
The most compelling reason to upload directly to Facebook is because that is what this platform favors. In fact, Socialbakers found that they received 10x more engagement from uploading directly than linking to YouTube:
Nice tips here, Steve. I’ve been a huge fan of YouTube for niches other than IM-related stuff. Apart from a few outliers, my Blogging Bookshelf and The Backlight videos never got too many views. How do your SSS vids fare? My Amazopia videos, though, have 220,000+ views now and are the main source of traffic for the blog. And I know you’ve said in the past that you get lots of YouTube traffic for your main niche.
Previously, there was a strict rule that no more than 20% of your image could contain text. While this rule is no longer official, you may still be penalized (by restriction of your reach) should you fill it up with too much text. Here’s an example email I received from Facebook from an almost sneaky inclusion of too much text:
Thank you for this very informative and easy to understand information. I’m wondering if the same information applies to blogs as well as an e-commerce website? My biggest obstacle is getting traffic to my website. Having all this wonderful information and affiliates is great but only if people see it.” If you build it they will come” I have found does not apply to websites. Thanks!
If you want to find a way to be able to mention products that are on sale more frequently on your website one of the easiest ways I’ve done that in the past is to just do a weekly deals post. So what I’ll do is publish a post every week with the best deals for my niche and then incorporate all of the previous tactics I’ve discussed above to link to the products on Amazon.com. Depending on how often you publish articles you could do it more or less frequently (I’ve seen some websites do these style of articles every day).
PS: Too late to comment on your post, but i would just like to say that THANK YOU (A BIG THANKS), for creating such a wonderful tip with us. I read it, and couldn’t stop myself to write a short comment on this.
And this is becoming a favorite online marketing technique for both advertisers and affiliates. Why? The seller makes a sale they otherwise may not have received, and you get a piece of the earnings – win, win.
This is obviously a crucial factor to consider. You might come up with an idea for a niche you know a lot about, but are there affiliate programs for the niche? No affiliate program = no sales. Time to look for a different niche.
An affiliate marketing business is a freelance opportunity that lets marketers make money through a commission by selling third party products. And the best part is that affiliates can market from anywhere around the globe. The only requirement is just having a fast Internet connection to make this great freelancing gig work.

How do you an evaluate a potential affiliate niche? It’s a question I’m asked several times a week. Half of the niches I’ve created affiliate sites in were ones I stumbled across totally by chance. The rest are in niches I directly set out to … Read More
Advertisers and marketers are beginning to realize that a higher engagement rate and reach doesn’t always translate to the kind of ROI that a brand or business looks for in their advertising/marketing campaigns. Many companies have even pulled out of Facebook due to poor sales and conversions.

Affiliate marketing on YouTube can be difficult to wrap your head around if you’re a beginner or even if you’ve been making videos for while because when you first start making videos you don’t think about affiliate marketing. There is a lot to explore on the subject, however, once you learn the basics it is possible to make money as an affiliate on YouTube.
That means a multi-channel approach with a consistent marketing message across all channels. Use your blog, pay-per-click ad campaigns that link to squeeze pages and sales page, market to your email list, comment in forums and on Facebook pages, use social media to build a following and get your message out — maybe even make it go viral, promote with online video… be creative in how you market these affiliate products. Be sure to dial in your marketing efforts to reach your specific target market.
Hey Martin, sounds like you might want to try Shakr. Their basic plan starts out at just $49 (Standard is $99) which is pretty affordable as video editing tools go (and definitely cheaper than hiring someone). It’s very tailored for small businesses’ social media marketing videos and they have lots of templates you can use to get up and running. Let me know what you think!
For YouTube you have to remember that people are going on there to be Informed, Educated, or Entertained. I’ve had a lot of success doing how-to videos and then linking to my squeeze page. I’ve also made money reviewing products on there aswell. Try that out.
Nonetheless, Facebook is beginning to test video autoplay sound as announced earlier this week (Mashable) despite Facebook’s own publicized research that 80% of viewers react adversely to videos with automatic sound.
But I get it. Travel bloggers in particular have a reputation for being notorious about just trying to get free stuff or promote easy products to continue to travel – but I don’t think that’s the case for everyone.

Members of the marketing industry are recommending that “affiliate marketing” be substituted with an alternative name. Affiliate marketing is often confused with either network marketing or multi-level marketing. Performance marketing is a common alternative, but other recommendations have been made as well.
It is not a waste of time to write meaningful, helpful posts that don’t contain a single affiliate link. Too often bloggers ask, “how could this post earn me money?” and not, “how can I position my blog as one that is a valuable resource?” Build the trust with your readership through solid, quality content so when you do have the right opportunity to share an affiliate or two – you’ll have a captured audience and not a desensitized one.
Start by thinking about your audience. What kinds of products or services are they most interested in? Which products or services are you currently using that you would feel comfortable recommending to your readers? You can add links to any affiliate program to your site, but if you want to market them with authenticity, it’s best to stick to companies with which you already have some kind of connection.
This book covers the different topics associated with affiliate marketing, starting with its definition, trends, opportunities, and current options, and will teach you various strategies and techniques to become successful in affiliate marketing. For sure. I would also add you do not want ALL of your videos to be the picture style. It is often best to mix it up. Keeps it fresh you know… Also make sure that pictures that you grab are ones that you actually have right for.
I’ve just got to hear about affiliate marketing and am really a newbie to this matter. The post above was so great and helpful for a person like me. I also took a look at locationrebel which seemed very exciting to me. I wonder if those courses and blueprints are still applicable because as far as I’ve seen, the reviews and testimonials all refer to the year 2013. It was the only reason that hold me back from joining the Locationrebel. I would be very thankful if you help me with this matter.
