Thank you for your clear explanation. I have been hearing about affiliate marketing but never had a clue how to program it with my youtube channel. There were always too much of everything but never the right answers. Thank you for your honesty and transparancy on how we can really get to work.
In this video she says that it doesn’t count and that you don’t have to check the box for affiliate links. However, I still give disclosure about it when I link to affiliates in the description of the video.
I do agree with you that some bloggers are heavy on the affiliate links and product promotion, but when that’s the case and I feel like they have little else to offer, I simply move on and find another blog that provides a bit more meat. Thus my mantra to myself (and all bloggers): Be helpful! 😉
Pay Per Sale or PPS – where companies pay a percentage of all sales that are qualified. These could be a percentage which was agreed by the company and it’s affiliate. Among the most common PPS program is the Amazon Associates where a publisher can earn up to 15% depending on the products that were sold. Here’s a list of places where you can find products to promote.
With an assoc. program like Amazon’s, is it necessary you already hold an account with the company? Once you get your basic website set up, your affiliates all arranged, and you start producing content that other people might want to see, it’s time to learn how to market yourself so that people will start visiting your site and finding out what you have to offer. If it’s good, word of mouth will bring others to see your website, and that (along with more marketing and SEO) will slowly but surely grow your audience. But to learn more about that, you should read some of the other articles on this site.
I read it non stop and got through it in just over 2 hours. It has 42 chapters on Kindle (I dont know how that translates to pages in a paperback) and also features Key Highlights, FAQs and other content that impressed me.
Absolutely, that’s exactly what I meant. Very, very good points… thank you! I am so thankful as well when other bloggers, such as yourself, spend time sharing their expertise with others. I am especially thankful because I now realize how much time it really takes to get these meaty published… something I never thought about before!
